Rosalind can offer a full day covering all button types or shorter 2 hour sessions focusing on particular types, eg Cross Wheels; a beginners level introduction, Colour work and/or beads and ridge patterns with Cross Wheels; Traditional construction of moulded buttons (Knobs and High Tops); Modern construction of fabric based buttons (Singletons, Grindles and Knobs).
Rosalind also holds short workshops to create items based on the Dorset Cross wheel button including a large Christmas decoration and also a simple Posy Brooch.

A series of workshops has been arranged to take place in the Autumn of 2017 at the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts, Poundbury, Dorchester, see below for details.

Dorset Button Making Workshop - Fabric Based Buttons on Wednesday 27th September 2017, 18.30 - 20.30 £20 per person

This workshop will introduce you to the Singleton, Grindles (or sea urchin style) and Dorset Knob buttons. The Singletons are quite simple and you may have made these before.  They are essentially a fabric covered ring.  The Dorset Knob buttons, after which the hard round biscuits are named, are another fabric formed button. The similar Grindle is a lovely button to make, again worked on a fabric form.

All the materials you require to work these buttons will be provided.
